The exhibition Constructing Europe, 25 Years of Architecture, which is on display at the MNAC, contains an assemblage of the models that make up the collection the Foundation has brought together over the years, as part of the biennial organisation of the European Union Contemporary Architecture Prize – Mies van der Rohe Award. The models are presented according to the work’s countries of origin. CINiBA selected under 34 works shortlisted for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2013. The winners were chosen from 335 submitted works in 37 European countries. The other shortlisted project from Poland is Integrated train and tram stop Wroclaw by MACKOW PRACOWNIA PROJEKTOWA. Works nominated for the Prize are put forward by independent experts from all over Europe, as well as by the member associations of the Architects’ Council of Europe, national architects’ associations, and the Advisory Committee for the Prize. The Walbrzych Cultural Center is conceived of as a linking element that aims to stitch together Walbrzych’s historic district. Among other things, the programming consists of the headquarters of the Sudetan Philharmonic Orchestra and two concert halls: a 600 seat main hall and a 200 seat chamber hall.
